About Me

Hi, I'm Harsh Patel, a high school student with a deep curiosity for the human body and the world of surgery. My interest began unexpectedly — in first grade, a teacher gave me a book about the brain. I didn’t understand everything, but I was fascinated. That moment stuck with me. As I got older, my parents encouraged me to pursue medicine, and I started to explore the field more seriously. At first, I was motivated by the financial stability and respect that often comes with becoming a doctor. But as I learned more, I realized that surgery isn't just a job — it's a blend of science, precision, and human impact. This website is part of my journey. I created Surgical Exploration to learn about the different surgical specialties and to help other students like me understand what these careers are really like. Each page is filled with research, facts, and reflections on what makes each specialty unique. I'm not 100% sure where my path will lead — maybe neurosurgery, maybe something else — but I do know that I want to help people in a way that challenges me both mentally and technically.
